I administer and manage a Video on Demand Platform, am key personnel who plan, schedule and perform maintenance at a secure Internet facility (AT&T Lynwood).
I assisted in LAN/WAN development design and documentation. I implemented Vendaria's four interface Linux firewall router, Muti Router Traffic Grapher, DMZ network, test lab network, VPN, NT Domain, P2P T1, data T1, RAID File Servers, web server replication system, replicating SQL servers, our primary bank of origin servers at a colocation facility, and secondary bank in house using a Linux virtual server load balancing system for high availability. Similarly I managed a set of gray market (no support) BIG/ip HA units for our primary production site saving 10's of thousands over our previously managed units. I built a linux load balancer using ipvsadm and used scripts to simulate the Extended Content Verfication system used by F5 BIG/ip's.
Aided in designing Vendaria's disaster plan and security policy, which helped win approval for servicing clients such as Amazon.com and AOL. I kept abreast of security related information and insured that our systems were not vulnerable to the latest threats.
I have 6 years of extensive experience with Linux and open source Internet applications such as bind, apache, sendmail, mrtg, iptables, tcpdump and the zebra routing suite (RIP, OSPF and BGP). I am comfortable scripting at a unix command line in bash. I am also able to quickly diagnose and repair complex network problems at multiple layers using diagnostic tools such as sniffers and protocol analysers, such as reading and understanding tcpdump and ethereal traces.
JA Young and Co. - Consultant (Mar 99 - Jun 00)
2800 Northup Way #120
Bellevue, WA 98004
I reorganized and streamlined the company network to employ production facilities such as a multiple Linux firewalls, Firewall-to-Firewall VPN Tunnels, Exchange 2000, and Visual Source Safe while administering the NT Domain.
I was exposed to a large number of web-based projects. Both on and off-site development for clients requiring Internet and Intranet solutions that integrated with custom designed databases. I was exposed to direct client interaction and project processes from concept and architecture to completion and maintenance.
I created a calendar driven web site and database for scheduling pickup, delivery, notification and arrivals of recyclable materials. The perpetual calendar interface listed color coded activity links for items occurring on that day. Each person logging in had unique and personalized event information for vendors, recyclers and brokers. A newly scheduled item generated a instantaneous notification to parties involved with a transaction, this improved overall efficiency in addition to providing a real-time business outlook.
I participated in developing a system which integrated Real-Time foreign exchange currency prices into an online service application hosting access to banks and traders. The system pushed the newest data to connected customers using an XML data island and provided an interface in which to buy and sell foreign currency. It used database rules to create a profitable margin against rapidly fluctuating prices.
